HART TIGERS U13 Reach Hampshire Cup Final

By mark sutton

HART TIGERS 2 Vs HAVANT AND WATERLOOVILLE KESTRELS 1

A massive congratulation to the Hart Tigers U13 for winning a tough game against Havant and waterlooville in their county cup semi final this weekend.
The Tigers started nervously but found their feet after 10 minutes. Although the tigers looked the better side, Havant scored a cracking goal close to the first half whistle against the run of play. The team showed real fighting spirit to come back from 1-0 down to dominate the second half. Some well drilled corners gave them the opportunity to hammer the havant goal. The Havant keeper saved a number of great shots, but the Tigers equalised early in the second half to come level. This lifted the team spirit and put them right back in contention.
From then on the game really turned for the Tigers who constantly broke a very strong Havant defence down with some wonderful long range passes. The Tigers had a number of great chances and finally broke the Havant side down 20 minutes from the end to make it 2-1.
A change in formation made sure the Tigers closed down any opportunity for Havant to come back. It really was a real team effort with no individual stand out players, but a STAND OUT TEAM!! ??
It was a huge achievement for the team to get through from 64 teams, to gain themselves a place in the County Cup final on the 23rd of March at Alton town stadium. They face a team called crofton youth lions who play up a year in the mid Solent youth u14 league. Not an easy game but no reason why the tigers can’t go and smash it!
The boys are now 14 games unbeaten which is a brilliant effort in itself. They should be very proud of their efforts this season. Well done tigers! ⚽️?
